BREASTFEEDING AWARENESS WEEK 2013 - DAY SIX

This is the penultimate photograph in my little week long project.

I wanted to include this photograph because it was taken at Teeny's first birthday/naming day celebrations*  Its really special for me that there is a photograph of me nursing him on his big day.

*Photograph taken by our lovely photographer for the day, Nasar Hussain (Cropped and edited by me.  Sorry!)

  2. Lovely pics rach. Only wish I was brave enough to have photos of me breastfeeding my babies. (I don't like photos of me lol) It's so lovely to see you celebrating breastfeeding awareness like this, it seems to have been rather ignored in recent years which is such a shame. I have done my bit today, however, had to take Caelan to work to attend a meeting and I breastfed him twice while I was there. No hiding in corners for me either (not that I ever do lol) I did use it as an opportunity to raise awareness however, as I led a discussion on the pros of breastfeeding, and one of my colleagues was surprised at how quickly Caelan was satisfied with a feed (he's a 5 min feeder now) and how happy he was after!
You have a gorgeous family and it's so nice to share the pics and what they get up to.

    1. Thanks so much for your kind words my lovely.

Believe it or not hun I don't like photos of me either, but when Eden was in hospital when he was little (with a nasty virus, but I was being neurotic) I started panicing about how few photos we had of him or of me with him so I made a little promise to myself to try to have more photos taken with my kids even if I hate them! It's quite good therapy for making you feel better about yourself. Lol. Like aversion therapy. Try it.

You're right this week has been ignored by the powers that be in recent years. It's because official funding and support for it has been withdrawn. Well done you for doing your bit though and spreading the word. For me it's just about informing people and making sure they feel supported or able to support others.
